Since I came on as Controller, 5/5/25, I have helped make several changes in the accounting system. In a supreme example of “Embrace Change,” Sam has adapted exceptionally to every change. Without conscious thought, Sam embraces the value of “Individuals Matter” by being welcoming, insightful, knowledgeable about current processes, and patient with new employees (myself for sure). In another example of “Embracing Change” – Sam is an ambassador for modification of current processes to streamline and standardize. When I asked her to make a list of things that she would like to see done differently, she was on top if it and we are working to make the financials of the company represent what is actually happening by slowly changing processes. Sam has been one of the most adaptable employees I have ever worked with.
Sam embodies the value of “Show up, Step in” every day. Even though she has been here less than 6 months, Sam has also been key in getting the financials reconciled for FY 2024 financial audit and then striving to keep them up to date. She comes to work every day with a ‘can do’ attitude, is willing to help, and is a great sounding-board for when we are working through complicated financial situations. While the accounting department does not do what we do for accolades, Sam is here making a difference and helping those that help our clients. I believe that she exemplifies what is means to be an exceptional team member and hope that receiving Employee of the Month will show her just a small amount of our appreciation for her talent, perseverance, and just wonderful self.
