I would like to recognize Nick for Showing Up. Stepping In. and embodying the true meaning of Individuals Matter. Nick was faced with a highly significant client event that would not be appropriate to share for all employees; however, to note that it was rare, intense, and extremely impactful reflects how notable this event was. As I debriefed with other leadership following the event, Nick was described by each of them to remain calm, professionally engaged, attentive to the handling tremendously difficult circumstances really well.
Upon follow-up to the event, it is clear to me that Nick has not only a foundational understanding of how substances and mental health can cause an individual to act in unsettling ways to not be taken personally, but he has a true dedication to practicing those beliefs when he himself is faced directly with the powerful, adverse actions of others. Nick has demonstrated maintaining solid boundaries, seeking out support and education since starting the position, and believing how the programming saves lives through his commitment and willingness to speak up to improve the quality of the program.
